All you have to do is keep a couple of (probably disposable) Assassins right now to wipe out any Support units that come in. This is especially the case if you reach a point in the game that you can get Night Wish up on most of your key cities. The end result is that your domain becomes incredibly annoying to invade. Obviously a key part of this strategy is blowing all your mana terraforming every hex in your domain to Wetlands. Still, it's really frigging useful, and in between Wetlands Foraging and Life Stealing, your guerrilla stacks are going to be basically immortal. Shadowborn only has one particularly useful thing, and that's Embrace Darkness. Casting Rally the Populace and Incite Revolt on the same city will bring it to its knees - and once you get Network of Scrying Eyes up, you can do this to any city you like. Adding to this, Rally the Populace has some fantastic synergy here and will actually allow you to conduct a full-scale propaganda campaign. Mediate, combined with Folk Hero and Courtesan Ambassadors, will make you the king of independents. Keeper, on the other hand, has two helpful abilities. Cast Hideout and Scorched Earth on a city and then even if the enemies manage to find it. Destruction has two abilities that fit great with the Guerrilla Warfare theme: Hasty Plunder, and Scorched Earth. Partisan also gives you Hideout, which makes it harder for enemies to root out your cities, and Partisan Army, which will allow you to get your other units in on the hit-and-run action (you just need to make sure they scatter before and after the battle).Īs for the third Specialization choice. The combination of Wetlands Concealment (from Goblin Rogue units) and Guerilla Tactics means that anyone who comes into your territory will be constantly harried by Scoundrels and Assassins - who have hopefully got Trail Running to make this even more ridiculous. Goblin Rogue with Explorer, Partisan, and either Destruction, Keeper, or Shadowborn Adept.
